As part of the UEL Athena SWAN Network – Professional Lecture Series, Prof Olivia Corcoran talked about career progression in and commitment to STEMM subjects at UEL. The theme of the talk was ‘Why are we still here? – Conversing with Women Scientists in Stratford, East London’. Olivia highlighted some history of STEMM in East London and UEL specifically, looking at stories of progression both past and present. In this context she talked about her own progression and elements of the progression ladder.
Olivia also talked about what the benefits of Athena SWAN are for women and colleagues at UEL; e.g. how we can encourage further women scientists to join UEL and how we can help their progression once here.
