Impact evaluation proposals on early childhood development – promoting the cognitive and socio-emotional development of children aged three to six

The World Bank invites applications for its impact evaluation proposals on early childhood development – promoting the cognitive and socio-emotional development of children aged three to six, under the Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF). This aims to evaluate new or ongoing early childhood development programmes, as well as longitudinal impact evaluation of follow-ups of early childhood development programmes. Specifically, proposals should consider which programmes improve the cognitive and socio-emotional development of young children, particularly aged three to six, and how these programmes can be delivered at scale. While the focus is on programmes for low-income countries, research in middle-income countries will be considered as long as results will be clearly relevant to low-income countries.

Any impact evaluation research team may apply. Applications must be submitted by a World Bank staff member partnering with the team.

Seed funding is worth up to US$25,000 to develop a full technical proposal. The total budget is US$4.5 million.
