Dr Dooruj Rambaccussing from the Royal Docks Business School has been selected as one of a handful of researchers worldwide to gain access to Twitter’s public and historical data.
UEL is one of only six institutions in the world to have been chosen for the Twitter DataGrant programme, which includes research groups from other countries such as Japan, the USA, Australia and the Netherlands.
Dooruj entered the competition with the topic ‘Exploring the relationship between Tweets and Sports Team Performance’ and will now receive free datasets to help develop this research.
Twitter released details of its DataGrant programme back in February and received more than 1,300 proposals from more than 60 different countries.
