Over the last eighteen months UEL’s Race Equality self-assessment team have been working on a Race Equality Charter submission planned for February 2019. This has involved consulting with staff and students on race equality at UEL as well as analysing key data such as staff recruitment and student progression and attainment gaps.
We are now drafting the required action plan which aims to address the issues raised. These cover organisational culture (see example below), how we recruit staff, career progression and for students actions focusing on progression and developing more inclusive teaching and learning practices.
We have arranged two further consultation events to specifically share our findings and proposed actions, as follows:
- 3 December 10-12am
- 13 December 2-4pm
All are welcome, please join us to feedback on our proposed actions. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more or confirm your attendance
