‘How can women plan and take control of their career progression?’ Hosted by Dr Sharon Cahill (School of Psychology) and Prof Olivia Corcoran (School of Health Sport and Biosciences). Linked to the Athena SWAN charter and to including a lively debate on how women can plan and take control of their career progression in their respective STEMM professions. ‘Women in Science and Entrepreneurship – Making it Happen!’The theme of this International Women’s Day 2015 is MAKE IT HAPPEN! This theme has particular relevance for entrepreneurial women.Athena Swan and CEWE are hosting an event to encourage and inspire women to take the first, second or final step towards making dreams happen.Following an introductory networking session, a panel of business women will speak about their personal experiences and answer questions. Audience participation in the discussion will be encouraged. Students, graduates, staff, local interest groups and individuals are all welcome to attend. UEL director of Athena Swan, Dr Mary Linington will welcome Sue Terpilowski (Image Line, FSB), Eszter Molnar Mills (Formium Development), Simone Davies (Laundry Days Ltd) and Kadeza Begum (KDevision) to UEL’s Knowledge Dock to share their varied and expert insights.
