Professor John Preston ( Cass School of Education and Communities) is to address a House of Commons Panel this morning on how social media could benefit the UK economy.
John will be giving evidence at the influential Committee’s inquiry into social media data and real time analytics. The session starts at 10am and is available to watch online at http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Live.aspx
Recent research by the Professor of Education at the University of East London (UEL) has examined the impact of social media in disaster planning and emergency situations.
John’s pioneering research points to the potential limits of social media. It also identifies how social networking sites could be used more effectively to help educate people in the event of a national disaster.
